SuperNZB can download more than one gigabyte per hour using a commonly available cable modem!Don't believe it? Take a look at the screenshot. SuperNZB is much faster than file-sharing programs like BitTorrent, which can take days or weeks to download a single gigabyte.
Faster than traditional news-reader software! SuperNZB is, overall, faster than traditional news-reader programs because SuperNZB doesn't have to download headers and search them.
Through the magic of NZB files, SuperNZB knows *exactly* which posts to ask the server for. You can do a search on Newzbin.com and have an NZB file in less than 60 seconds. Then you import it into SuperNZB, click the Start button and off it goes. It's that easy.
SuperNZB can download from any number of news servers using any number of connections. Practically, you only need access to two good servers that allow a few connections each to guarantee that you get all posts at maximum speed. But if you have access to 100 crappy servers, you can do that too.
SuperNZB has very polished error-handling code that competing programs lack. This is what separates the men from the boys in this kind of software. News servers often go off-line, need to be rebooted, get overloaded, etc.
SuperNZB knows this and will continually try to reconnect a failed connection. So, another program may *look* similar, but when things get ugly SuperNZB will always get the job done, and do it faster. It will never sit there looking confused just because a server failed to respond to one of its requests.
You can load as many files as you like into SuperNZB's download Queue, and the files may reference posts in any newsgroup.
You can stop and start SuperNZB as much as you need to. When you re-start the program, it will look in the Parts and Downloads folders to see what is already done, and pick up from there.
If you are not going to finish downloading everything in one session, make sure to leave completed files in the Downloads folders so that SuperNZB won't download them again the next time you start it up.
Or, if you need to move them, use the Clear button on the Queue window to remove them from the list. SuperNZB will automatically combine and decode posts encoded with yEnc, UU, or BASE-64.
Limitations:
· The demo version will get a lot less connections to the newsgroup servers than the registered one.
What's New in This Release: [ read full changelog ]
· This release was done to make one installer that works on both XP and Vista. Initially, we made a special Vista installer to get something out to Vista users as quickly as possible. Version 3.0.3 is now identical on both XP and Vista.
· Due to a "change of behavior" in RealBasic 2007 (the programming language SuperNZB is written in) the RAR decoder and Par decoder windows no longer show detailed progress as they work. Instead, they show a progess bar with a very rough estimate, and only show the full details when they are done. This is only a cosmetic affect.
